The Grip of Ecstasy
Are you in pain? Is that why you're paying a visit to the medical tents? All of the beds are full, but it would be an honor to treat my Truest Doomknight. My name is Culla, heehee! I have the ability to take joy and give it to others, but with this new body you gave me, I would love to hear laughter I created myself. Don't underestimate the power of a little giggle, or rather, the lack of one.
Talk
I would love to offer the clerics some help, but they scream every time they see me. Tsk, tsk, it's because my brethren have an awful habit of spying. It's keeping the poor nurses on edge.Abilities
With a touch, I can rob you of the ability to feel joy. With a second touch, I can return it to you, or give you the joy of others. Taking one's happiness is the first step in stealing their sentience. It's a terrible fate, but you can also be too happy. If I overload someone with joy, they'll fall to the ground, foaming at the mouth, unable to think or see. They're trapped in a cage of bliss, until death by starvation claims them.Past Life
ο»ΏBefore my former Empire decided to use the virus to create its minions en masse, I was an assassin. My body was solid at the time. It would have been easier if I looked the way I do now, but it was… unfulfilling. I didn't know what that meant at the time, but I was mindlessly following orders, using my ability to take joy without knowing what that actually was. That emptiness led me to Starship Carcossa.Nursery
When Starship Carcossa was exploring the galaxy, I was in charge of the nursery. I wore gloves, of course. You would never hear a baby crying for long. We let human babies and the Shadow Spawn sleep in the same incubation chambers. They were always terrified at first, but injecting a little joy to calm them down helped the human babies see the Shadows as a comfort. Responded conditioning, you say? Did I do that by accident?
Location: Temple of Doom
Note: Appears on Screen 4 of Temple of Doom after completing the 'Three of Kind' quest.
